Help Our Community Get a Fresh Start: Nevaeh's Story
Spring is here — time for brighter days and fresh starts.
As the weather warms, please donate generously to help families to overcome homelessness.
Your support could provide a fresh start for a mother like Nevaeh.
Nevaeh and her two children became homeless after fleeing an abusive relationship. Her baby was just two weeks old.
She stayed with various friends and family but longed for stability and a home for her family. She obtained a job but struggled to save enough to afford a new place.
When she came to us in August, she connected with our Shelter Diversion Program which helps individuals and families to access alternative housing opportunities so that they don’t need to enter the homeless shelter system. We were able to provide Nevaeh and her family with financial support, combined with their own savings, enabling them to pay for a security deposit and a month of rent to obtain a new apartment.
On November 1st, they moved into their apartment—just in time to prepare for a Thanksgiving meal in their new home.
Please donate generously this Spring to help more families like Nevaeh’s.
